About Amber Lee
Amber was born and raised in Arkansas, but Chicago became her forever home after graduate school. A neuropsychologist, wife, and mom to a 1-year-old daughter (plus an 11-year-old dog!) Amber has always loved bringing people together — whether for parties, dinners, or creative group activities. With her Type A planning skills and love of puzzles, it was only natural that she and her husband, an entrepreneur, would team up to open their own escape rooms.
They originally operated four escape rooms across the U.S. but as their family grew, they focused on two: Escape Artistry in Wicker Park and Lock Chicago in Evanston. Combining her professional knowledge of brain health with her passion for fun, Amber found the perfect way to help people connect while keeping their minds sharp.

Escape Artistry and Lock Chicago offer friends, families, coworkers, and even solo players an exciting alternative to the usual dinner or movie. Guests work together to solve creative puzzles, think outside the box, and “escape” within an hour — making for a memorable and energizing experience.

Their rooms are fully family-friendly with no age limits — they’ve hosted everyone from toddlers in strollers to grandparents celebrating milestone birthdays.
The spaces have welcomed school clubs, double dates, birthday parties, corporate team-building events, and even marriage proposals. They also offer a mobile escape room option if you’d rather host the experience at your own location.
