About Meredith Lester
Meredith is originally from Marblehead, Massachusetts and grew up skiing on the east coast (though she now swears west coast skiing is better — but don’t tell her family that). A former college athlete, she stays active through CrossFit and by chasing her four young kids around the city. In addition to her full-time career in executive recruiting, Meredith helps run Shredder alongside her husband, Kevin.
Their journey with Shredder started not as owners, but as customers — looking for a way to introduce their kids to snow sports while living in the heart of Chicago. That search sparked an idea. After visiting Shredder’s original locations in Denver, Meredith and her family fell in love with the concept — an innovative, fun, and family-focused approach to skiing and snowboarding that removed the intimidation factor. It was the perfect blend of their passions: kids, skiing, and entrepreneurship.
