About Niki Cordell

Niki grew up on the South Side of Chicago, where dinnertime meant storytelling, connection, and a whole lot of love, a tradition she continues today with her own family of five. Now living in Lakeview with her husband, three kids (Olivia, Grayson, and Lenny), and their Westie pup, Niki brings that same warmth into everything she does.

After years of volunteering with organizations like Nourishing Hope, Niki saw a deeper need for spaces that could empower kids through cooking. It wasn’t just about trying new foods,  it was about helping children build confidence, learn life skills, and have fun along the way. With three kids of her own, she knows how hard it is to find programming that’s engaging and enriching — so she created it herself.

About Junior Chefs Kitchen

Junior Chefs Kitchen is a one-of-a-kind cooking studio offering drop-in classes, camps, parties, and after-school programs for kids ages 2–18. Whether your little one is learning to crack an egg or your tween is ready to sauté like a pro, each class is built around skill progression, sensory learning, and confidence-building. Kids use real tools and ingredients, follow structured yet fun lesson plans, and walk away feeling capable and proud (plus a little flour-dusted).

Junior Chefs Kitchen also partners with local schools and families to support picky eaters, strengthen motor skills, and cultivate a love of food from an early age.
