BarraBuilt
At Friend of a Mom we love spotlighting mom-owned businesses that are reimagining what support, community, and balance can look like. These are the women building spaces for all of us — moms helping moms.
We’re thrilled to introduce Neva Barra, the powerhouse behind BarraBuilt, a fitness business built on strength, confidence, and high fives. Neva’s not only a full-time leader at Adobe and a mom to Leo (plus fur baby Tater Tot)—she’s also helping women at every stage of motherhood discover how strong they really are.

About Neva Barra
Neva Barra has always been a natural hype woman. A former competitive cheerleader and University of Illinois alum, she first discovered the magic of strength training in college—and never looked back. After becoming a mom herself, Neva saw how little reliable, supportive information was available for women trying to stay active during pregnancy and postpartum. So, she got certified in pre and postnatal fitness and made it her mission to change the narrative.
What drives her isn’t just helping women look a certain way—it’s helping them feel powerful, supported, and proud of what their bodies can do. Whether she’s managing a team at Adobe or leading a workout full of heavy weights and high energy, Neva shows up with heart and hype, making sure every woman feels seen, capable, and celebrated.
